Back to the gown!

Finally, after all the alterations, I am working on my gown again. Yeah. I had to take in my machine with my walking foot to do the quilting on the stomach area. I ended up using 4 layers of batting, a layer of felt, a layer of lining and two layers of horsehair. Boy, is this a thick gown, ha!

You can see how the fabric puffs up. I think it is pretty cool.

The whole stomach area and across the back is quilted. I think it should look pretty cool. I can't wait to put the whole thing together. The top layers were incredible, so I am hoping the bottom will be better/easier, he he.
